Oct 2010: Study trip to Spain allows exchange of best practice ideas. There are many similarities between the evolution of Spanish agriculture over the last fifty years, and the challenges facing Romanian agriculture today.

On 18-24 October 2010, representatives of three NGOs engaged in landscape-scale agri-environment projects in Transylvania, Fundatia ADEPT, Pogany Havas Micro-region and the Mosaic project, visited Spain on a study trip sponsored by the European Forum on Nature Conservation and pastoralism.

Nov 2011: Agricultural and Rural Convention acts as Dacian Cioloş outlines his vision for a 'fairer' EU farm policy to the European Commission

On 18 November, Dacian Ciolos unveiled the European Commission blueprint for reforming the EU's Common Agricultural Policy, proposing to increase subsidies to smaller East European farmers and to link direct payments to environmental and food security goals.

Before Dacian Ciolos presented his proposals to the press and to the European Parliament Agriculture Committee, he received core group members of ARC, the Agricultural and Rural Convention, which represents hundreds of European civil society groups.

Sept 2010: International Conference: High Nature Value grasslands – securing the vital ecosystem services of European farming.

Fundatia ADEPT, European Forum for Nature Conservation and Pastoralism (EFNCP) and University Lucian Blaga Sibiu held  a conference at Sibiu, Romania, 7-9 September 2010. This conference addressed the concept of High Nature Value Farmland and Landscapes, and their importance for biodiversity conservation and broader ecosystem services in Europe.

June 2010: UK Darwin Initiative gives renewed support to Fundatia ADEPT activities

In 2010 ADEPT has received continued funding from the UK Darwin Initiative.  This link  describes the joint project. Darwin Initiative continued support is recognition of the global importance of the Tarnava Mare area, and of the effectiveness of the ADEPT project in protecting and conserving it.

2014: Top EU DG Environment prize for bringing benefits to small-scale farmers

ADEPT wins top EU prize three years in succession for bringing benefits to small-scale farmers
In May 2014, ADEPT won top prize for the socio-economic benefits category of the newly-launched Natura 2000 prize from DG Environment. This follows EU top prizes in 2012 and 2013 from DG Agriculture for best communcation with farmers. This shows how ADEPT is crossing policy boundaries, delivering top-quality integrated programmes for the benefit of small-scale farmers in Romania. ADEPT hopes to replicate this successful, innovative model more widely in Europe. ...read more

2013: top EU prize for communications won again in Brussels by Fundatia ADEPT 

9 December 2013, Brussels. For the second year in succession, Fundația ADEPT won a top EU prize for innovative communication with small-scale farmers, with its SMS Family Farms project. The project was developed with communication specialists KAMA System Ltd, and supported by Fundatia Orange and by the Swiss Romanian Cooperation Fund.
