The ADEPT Transilvania Foundation is found on the list of over 1,000 cultural institutions partnering with the Google Cultural Institute around the world, along with exhibitions and collections of famous museums and archives.
The ADEPT Transylvania Foundation can thus promote the natural, historical and cultural treasures of the Transylvanian Saxon villages worldwide, bringing to the attention of the public three exceptional collections: “High Natural Value Areas”, “Transylvanian Saxon Villages”, “Art and Transylvanian crafts “. The ADEPT Transilvania Foundation is found on a short list of Google Cultural Institute partners alongside the Brukenthal National Museum and the Romanian Chamber of Architects.
“The High Nature Value” Collection focuses on the high biodiversity of Transylvania, which is distinguished by the uniqueness of the species of plants and animals that have long since disappeared from the European landscape, and the importance of saving this ecosystem, essential for our future. These areas are the result of non-intensive agriculture, practiced for hundreds of years, which can only be protected by continuing the traditional management of farmers.
The second collection, “Transylvanian Saxon villages”, presents one of Europe’s last medieval landscapes, the most extensive blooming meadows that have remained in depression in Europe, unchanged for hundreds of years. The area is located within the triangle formed by Sibiu, Sighisoara and Brasov.
The “Transylvanian Art and Crafts” collection exhibits some of the traditional products, indisputable to the authentic taste (cheese, smoked meat, homemade bread, jams, honey) and local crafts brought back to life by the initiative of ADEPT (Saschiz ceramics, fabrics, traditional painting on wood).
