Fundatia ADEPT, founded in 2004, is a biodiversity conservation and rural development NGO based in Saschiz, Romania. Our aim is to give the High Nature Value Farmed Landscapes of Transylvania and their communities an economic future and relevance in the 21st century without sacrificing their sustainability and productivity. These landscapes are an important model for future productive and sustainable farming in Europe.
ADEPT won the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) Award 2017

Fundatia ADEPT Transilvania was awarded 1st Prize as Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism, at the 2017 ECTN Award Ceremony, during the 10th international conference “Cultural Values, Diversity and Heritage: Pillars of Sustainable Tourism for Development’, held on 20 – 21 September 2017 in Sibiu, Romania, for the project “Transylvania Mountain Bike Trail to revitalize the Târnava Mare cultural landscape”.

Bazna Pig Festival

ADEPT in collaboration with The Bazna Local Council organized the third edition of the "Pigul de Bazna" Festival, in the commune of Bazna, Sibiu County. The aim of this festival is to promote the local values and tourism activities in Bazna Resort and to help maintain the area's tradition. We wish to stimulate the interest of local people in raising Bazna pigs and cattle in individual households in order to provide consumers with tasty products closer to nature.

Haferlan Week

Haferland Week is one of the largest festivals dedicated to the cultural heritage of the Transylvanian Saxons held annually in our region.
ADEPT is one of the founders/organisers. ADEPT organised the one day event in Saschiz, counting around 250 participants.
We organized together with the local community a concert in the church, traditional dance, a presentation of the high biodiversity of the area, potter workshop, traditional products market and offered a Saxon wedding traditional meal
