ADEPT in collaboration with The Bazna Local Council organized the third edition of the “Pigul de Bazna” Festival, in the commune of Bazna, Sibiu County, on 9-10 September 2017. The aim of this festival is to promote the local values and tourism activities in Bazna Resort and to help maintain the area’s tradition. We wish to stimulate the interest of local people in raising Bazna pigs and cattle in individual households in order to provide consumers with tasty products closer to nature.
Another objective of the festival is strengthening links between urban and rural areas through in-house recreational activities, combined with innovative bicycle and brunch, thereby boosting local producers support. Increasing the level of knowledge of the area expressed through culinary art, by promoting local products from the adjacent regions of Bazna is one of the key focus points of the organisers.
A series of surprises were included in the program : culinary competitions, sports activities, children activities, artistic moments and a bike-and-brunch from Mediaş to Bazna. We have also organised some sessions dedicated to educating the consumers about healthy and nature friendly food and had the opportunity to benefits from two gourmet counselors who adapt the recipes to the consumer’s contemporary behavior
During the event we organised a workshop that brought together two Slow Food presidia (Bazna Pig Growers Association and Saxon Villages Preserves).
1.000 people attended the event and more than 3.000 visited the dedicated FaceBook page.
