Fundatia ADEPT, founded in 2004, is a biodiversity conservation and rural development NGO based in Saschiz, Romania. Our aim is to give the High Nature Value Farmed Landscapes of Transylvania and their communities an economic future and relevance in the 21st century without sacrificing their sustainability and productivity. These landscapes are an important model for future productive and sustainable farming in Europe.

On 7 – 9 September 2010 EFNCP, with local partners Fundatia ADEPT and University Lucian Blaga, held a conference in Sibiu, Romania, focussing on the public goods supplied by Europes High Nature Value grasslands, the threats to these landscapes, and the policy responses required to protect them and the vital ecosystem services they provide.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited the village of Saschiz, in South-East Transylvania, to meet local producers and to officially open the model food processing unit Fundatia ADEPT Transilvania had built in the area.
